Abstract | In recent years, CO2 utilisation has been a focus of many chemical industries as an innovative way to reduce the accumulation of anthropogenic CO2. Recent publications show that significant progress has been made in the effective utilisation of CO2 as a value-added products e.g. organic carbonates. Organic carbonates such as propylene carbonate (PC), styrene carbonate (SC) and chloromethyl ethylene carbonate (CMEC) are widely used as polar aprotic solvents, fuel additive and electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries. |
