Abstract

This chapter focuses on enabling students to develop into a professional nurse. It will cover areas on the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code which sets the standards for being professional. In this chapter we explain how regulatory bodies work and their importance in nursing. We take a decolonized approach to explaining professionalism and how understanding other cultures and groups contributes to being professional nurse and a member of a professional group.
