Description

Castle on the Marsh is a first-time collaboration between conceptual producers Dane Law (Adam Parkinson) and Semi Precious (Guy Baron), drawing inspiration from Lea Valley Marshes in East London to sonically paint the inbetween landscapes on the fringes of city life

Castle on the Marsh sees Parkinson using Markov chains to reimagine a 1990s trance anthem as fragmented and computer-generated rave folklore, with Baron’s reverb-laden rework of the original track suggesting an even more distant and blurry memory of euphoric moments. “I'm obsessed by the marshes that sit on the edge of east London”, says Parkinson. “It’s place where weekend ravers rub up against kingfishers, grass snakes and drifting populations of the unhoused. A place of nature and escape and of communion and community, and sometimes of more sinister things too”
