Abstract

In this fourth article of the British Journal of Nursing’s ECG Interpretation Series, we examine the
conduction blocks commonly encountered in clinical practice, and discuss how they can be
recognised on the electrocardiogram (ECG). As with the previous article in this series (Sampson,
2016), we also place each block in context by briefly considering why it occurs, its clinical
significance, and any treatment that might be necessary.
