Carving Out a Space for Critical Pedagogies in the Secondary School Classroom
Alfandari, N. (2019). Carving Out a Space for Critical Pedagogies in the Secondary School Classroom. LSBU Postgraduate Research Summer School 2019. 03 Jul 2019 London South Bank University.
This poster is exploring the use of critical pedagogies in mainstream secondary school classrooms as a practice for shaping more inclusive spaces for learning. It is suggesting a critical spatial lens in order to explore the relationship between pedagogical practices and the space for learning produced. Specifically, it is evaluating Theatre of the Oppressed, a theatre practice based on critical pedagogies, as a research method, in order to reflect with students and teachers on their critical classroom and explore changes. In this research, I am interested in the creative space Theatre of the Oppressed proposes, looking at it as a creative, spatial practice of critical pedagogies.
